Planned Unit Development (PUD)

Definition of term

A planned unit development, or PUD, is a type of zoning that can include residential, commercial, and industrial uses within a single development. Developers design PUDs to create a more cohesive community than traditional zoning would allow. Similar to homeowners associations, PUDs often include amenities such as parks, community pools, and walking trails.
